So I’ve had the chance to listen to a lot more country music than I ever normally would, thanks to a friend who I’ve started working on some songs for shows with. I must say, I never really cared for the genre…got to a point of tolerating it in college thanks to a roommate, but now actually find I like certain musicians a lot.
There tends to be an amount of “sincerity” in country music that I’ve come to appreciate; lyrics that really get to the point of what the writer is trying to say.
I have no intention of singing a country song…no way I could pull it off….but it’s nice to have some different style’s of music to help with inspiration behind writing tunes.
